I am a regularly published freelance writer, and I am seeking to employ my writing skills alongside my bilingualism by doing translation work.
I have a B.A. in linguistics and a minor in Spanish from Middlebury College. I have done informal interpretation and translation for migrant workers at medical clinics in Vermont. I tutor speaking, reading and writing in both Spanish and English. I am also TESOL certified and have taught English to speakers of other languages both in the U.S., as well as abroad. I generally love and excel at anything multi-lingual and multi-cultural.
I also studied Spanish linguistics at the Universidad de la Republica in Montevideo, Uruguay, as part of my major. My time studying alongside native speakers of Spanish, and finding myself constantly surrounded by linguist friends, gave me the opportunity to develop my Spanish language abilities to the point that I began to be regularly mistaken for a native Uruguaya!
