Congratulations on the purchase of the Framus Ruby Riot combo. Please read this manual before connecting up the device and switching on. If you follow the advice given in this manual, you will soon be in a position to take full advantage of the quality of your new Framus amplifier. ADVICE FOR THE USER
In order that your device should function reliably, please follow the following recommendations :
- Never open the amplifier case! You might receive an electric shock. - Do not expose the device to dust, excessive humidity, direct sunlight or extremes of temperature. - Make sure there is adequate ventilation at the back of the device. - Do not subject the device to excessive vibration or violent jolts as these could damage the valves (tubes). - After using the device, allow around 10 minutes for the valves to cool down before moving it. - Always place the device on a stable, horizontal surface - Never place the device on a soft surface such as a carpet or cushion. - Avoid operating the device near radiators or devices that generate significant heat. - The adjustment or cleaning of internal parts should only ever be undertaken by qualified service engineers. - Take care not to allow liquid or small objects of any kind to penetrate the device. - Never operate the device without a load attached (e.g. when there are no speakers connected). - At power-up, the valves (tubes) need at least 30 seconds to warm up before achieving operation readiness and an addition
al few minutes before they can deliver full power. - When changing the valves, replace them with only with valves selected by Framus, to avoid problems like noise, microphon
ism and imbalance. (special selection criteria). - Only a high quality, undamaged mains lead (power cord) should be used to power the device. Before switching on, make

Sockets to implement the effects loop. Connect the input of the effects device to the SEND socket and its output to the RETURN socket. This is a parallel effects loop and the Wet/Dry balance can be controlled using the EFFECT MIX rotary control. When no effects are connected please turn it fully counter-clockwise. Socket for the connection of speaker cabinets. Selector switch used to match the impedance to the connected speakers. (see also under 'Powering Up').

POWERING UP
1. Make sure that one (or more) loudspeaker cabinet(s) are connected to the SPEAKER OUT socket, that it (they) has (have) an adequate power handling capability and is (are) suitable for guitar signals. Check that the impedance selector switch on the device corresponds with the total load impedance of the connected speaker(s).
2. Make sure that the device is plugged in to the mains and that any external (effects) devices are correctly connected and operation ready.
3. Turn the MASTER control all the way to the left. 4. Connect your guitar to the INPUT of the amplifier using a screened cable. 5. Turn the device on using the POWER switch. 6. When the valve (tube) warm-up phase is complete, turn the STANDBY switch on (upwards). 7. To obtain the desired sound for each channel, select the channel and adjust the controls.
To familiarize yourself with the basic sound of the amplifier, set all the rotary controls to 12 o'clock (straight-up).
CONCLUDING ADVICE

When using the FX Loop on the rear panel the EFFECT MIX allows you to dial in the desired amount of effected signal into your overall sound. Turning the control fully clock wise will result in a fully effected sound, i.e. no dry signal and turning the control fully counter-clockwise will result in a fully dry sound. When no effects are connected please turn it fully counter-clockwise.

These are both stereo sockets and are prior to MIDI. Don't use latching switches, please use momentary (unlatch) switches.

MIDI INTERFACE
The Dragon features an integrated MIDI interface. This enables all the switching functions of the device to be controlled via MIDI. It also allows a MIDI program number to be assigned to the switch settings which can then be stored. MIDI messages received by the Dragon can also be forwarded to other devices. The interface receives MIDI data via the MIDI IN socket and passes it on to other devices via the MIDI THRU.
The Interface receives Data on all MIDI-Channels. Please pay attention to the Tab below. An example: When you want to select Channel 3 you have to push both the Buttons for CLEAN and for CRUNCH while turning power on.

Program change messages can be messages for controllers 1 to 4 (BBh 01h xxh, BBh 02h xxh, BBh 03h xxh, BBh 04h xxh, where "xxh” may be any value between 00h ... 7 Fh). As a result, there are two principal control options:
1. Program saving and reloading
To assign the key settings of your Dragon to a MIDI program please do the following: Send your Dragon the favoured program number which will be used later to reload the setting. The red LED above the STORE button on the rear con- trol panel lights up. Now select the desired channel and the MASTER Volume on your Dragon (e.g. CRUNCH MASTER 2). Now you push STORE and the setting is saved – the LED turns off. If you fail to press STORE, the existing data will not be overwritten. (Manual switching has priority but is not stored automatically).
2. Control using the buttons
You can also use MIDI Controller messages for the Dragon ́s switching using the following table in which Controller values may lie anywhere between 0 to 127.

CONCLUDING ADVICE
- This amplifier is capable of generating high volume levels that can cause hearing damage - At high GAIN settings, feedback between the guitar and the speakers may occur and this can cause hearing damage as
well as damage to connected loudspeakers. - Remove the power cord whenever changing a fuse! - Only ever replace a fuse with another of the same type. To assign the key settings of your Cobra to a MIDI program please do the following: Send your Cobra the favored program number, which will be used later to reload the setting. The red LED above the STORE button on the rear con- trol panel lights up. Now select the desired channel and the MASTER Volume on your Cobra (e.g. CRUNCH MASTER 2). Now you push STORE and the setting is saved – the LED turns off. If you fail to press STORE, the existing data will not be overwritten. (Manual switching has priority but is not stored automatically).

You can also use MIDI Controller messages for the Cobra ́s switching using the following table in which Controller values may lie anywhere between 0 to 127.

CONSIGLI PER L’UTENTE
Per assicurare un corretto funzionamento dell’apparecchio, leggere e seguire i consigli sottostanti:
- Non esporre l’apparecchiatura a delle sgocciolature o spruzzatore e non appoggiare alcun oggetto contenente liquidi (vasi per esempio) sull’amplificatore.
- Collegare sempre l’apparecchiatura ad una presa di corrente alternata implementata di connessione a terra protettiva. - La spina di rete o connettore si utilizza come dispositivo per l’accensione e spegnimento, perciò la spina o connettore
di rete deve essere sempre ben visibile ed evidente. - Le valvole possono diventare molto calde creando il rischio di scottatura! - Non aprire mai l’apparecchio! All’interno sono presenti voltaggi che possono causare scosse elettriche. - Non esporre l’amplificatore alla polvere, all’eccessiva umidità, alla luce del sole diretta o temperature estreme. - L’amplificatore deve disporre di una ventilazione adeguata nella parte posteriore. - Non sottoporre l’apparecchio a delle vibrazioni eccessive od a scosse violenti per ovviare danni alle valvole. - Non spostare l’amplificatore per un periodo di circa 10 minuti dopo l’utilizzo per permettere il raffredamento delle valvole. - L’apparecchio deve essere collocato su una superficie stabile ed orizontale. - Non collocare mai l’apparecchio su una superficie morbida come un tappeto o un cuscino. - Lo strumento deve essere dislocato lontano da sorgenti di calore come termosifoni, stufe etc. - Per la regolazione o pulitura delle parti interne rivolgersi soltanto a tecnici qualificati. - Fare attenzione a non far cadere oggetti piccoli o liquidi all'interno dell’amplificatore. - Non accendere mai l’amplicatore senza aver prima collegato il carico adeguato (per es. – quando non è collegata alla cassa) - All’accensione dell’apparecchio, occorre circa 30 secondi per il riscaldamento delle valvole, permettendo la condizione
d’utilizzo e qualche altro minuto prima di erogare la potenza massima. - Quando necessita la sostituzione delle valvole, si raccomanda di usare soltanto quelle selezionate e bilanciate dalla Framus
per ovviare problemi di rumore, microfonicità ecc. - Usare soltanto un cavo in buone condizioni per il collegamento dell’amplificatore alla rete. Si raccomanda di assicurare che
il voltaggio di rete corresponde a quella contrassegnata sul pannello in vicinanza alla presa di corrente dell’amplificatore. - Si raccomanda di effettuare la connessione dell’apparecchio ad una presa di terra!
L’amplificatore deve essere portato presso un centro assistenza per un controllo da tecnici qualificati se:
- iI cavo d’alimentazione o la presa sono danneggiati - all'interno dell’apparecchio sono caduti degli oggetti o del liquido - è stato esposto alla pioggia o eccessiva umidità - l’apparecchio non sembra funzionare normalmente o dimostra un evidente calo di prestazioni - è caduto o lo chassis è danneggiato

Da utilizzare con il Loop per effetti (EFFECT SEND ed EFF. RETURN) situato sul pannello posteriore. L’EFFECT MIX permette il dosaggio degli effetti nell’ambiente del suono generale. Ruotando il controllo completamente in senso orario produrrà un suono con l’effetto al 100% (vale a dire senza la presenza d’alcun segnale normale) e al contrario, con il controllo nella posizione completamente in senso anti-orario, anullerà totalmente l’effetto, producendo un suono completamente naturale. Si raccomanda di ruotare com pletamente in senzo anti-orario questo controllo quando nessun effetto è inserito nel loop.

L’ACCENSIONE
Presa di rete con fusibile integrato per la connessione del cavo rete. MIDI IN / THRU ed il pulsante STORE fanno parte dell’interfaccia MIDI integrata e sono trattati nell sezione INTERFACCIA MIDI. Prese jack per il collegamento dei pedali per la commutazione tra i tre canali e la selezione tra i due volumi d’uscita (MASTER 1 e MASTER 2). Sono ambidue prese jack stereo e sono pre-MIDI. NON USARE PEDALI DEL TIPO ON/OFF. Si debbono addoperare pedali con l’azione del tipo MOMENTANEO.
Queste due prese jack permettono di effettuare i collegamenti del loop degli effetti. Collegare l’ingresso del dispositivo dell’effetto da utilizzare alla presa SEND e l’uscita dello stesso effetto a quella del RETURN. Questo collegamento costituisce un ‘loop parallelo’ ed il bilanciamento effetto/normale (wet/dry) si controlla tramite il controllo rotativo EFFECT MIX sul pannello di controllo anteriore (vedi pagina precedente). Presa d’uscita di linea per il collegamento ad altri amplificatori di potenza (il segnale è post trasformatore d’uscita – in pratica, i controlli del MASTER, DEEP e PRESENCE influiscono sul segnale di quest’uscita)
Presa per il collegamento delle casse. Sono previste due prese collegate in parallelo. Selettore per accoppiare l’impedenza dell’amplificatore alle casse collegate (vedi anche L’Accensione). per il bias delle valvole di potenza ed il trimpot per aggiustare il bias.
Arco da aggiustare da 25 a 30 MA, max. 35 MA
1. Assicuratevi che almeno una cassa è collegata all’amplificatore tramite la presa SPEAKER OUT, che la capacità di potenza è adeguata e che il tipo di cassa utilizzata è capace di trattare segnali provenienti da chitarre elettriche. Controllare che la posizione del selettore d’impedenza corresponde a quello totale delle casse collegate.

2. Assicuratevi che l’apparecchio è collegato ad una presa di corrente adatta e che qualsiasi dispositivo d’effetto esterno sia collegato correttamente e pronto per l’utilizzo.
3. Ruotare il controllo MASTER completamente in senso anti-orario. 4. Collegare una chitarra alla presa INPUT dell’amplificatore tramite un cavo schermato. 5. Accendere l’amplificatore tramite l’interruttore POWER. 6. Dopo un breve periodo di riscaldamento, portare l’interruttore STANDBY in posizione ‘ON’ (verso l’alto). 7. Scegliere il volume desiderato ruotando il controllo MASTER. 8. Selezionare il canale e regolare i controlli di questo per ottenere il suono preferito per ciascun canale. (vedi anche la
sezione "Esempi di Settaggi"). Per acquistare familiarità con il suono di base dell’amplificatore, posizionare tutti controlli rotativi in posizione ‘ore 12’.

INTERFACCIA MIDI
Il Cobra è implementato con un’interfaccia MIDI. Quest’interfaccia permette di controllare tutte le funzioni degli interruttori via MIDI. Inoltre l’interfaccia permette di assegnare un numero di MIDI Program ai settaggi usati per gli interruttori che possono essere memorizzati successivamente. I messaggi MIDI ricevuti dal Cobra si possono anche trasmettere ad altri dispositivi MIDI. L’interfaccia riceve tutti i dati MIDI dalla presa MIDI IN per trasmetterli agli altri dispositivi tramite la presa MIDI THRU. L’interfaccia riceve i dati su tutti i canali MIDI di ricezione. Si prega di prestare attenzione alla tabella sottostante. Per esempio: per selezionare Canale 3 si deve tener premuti tutti due i pulsanti CLEAN e CRUNCH al momento dell’accensione dell’am- plificatore.

I messaggi di Program Change si possono Change per i controlli da 1 a 4 (BBh 01h xxh, BBh 02h xxh, BBh 03h xxh, BBh 04h xxh, dove “xxh” può essere qualsiasi valore tra 00h ... 7 Fh). Due possibilità di controllo principali sono a disposizione:
1. Salvattaggio del programmma ed il successivo ricaricamento.
Per assegnare i settaggi tasti del Cobra ad un programma MIDI, fare come segue: mandare al Cobra il numero di pro gramma di scelta, che sarà utilizzato in seguito per ricaricare lo stesso settaggio. Si accenderà il LED rosso sopra il pulsante STORE sul pannello posteriore di controllo. A questo punto, scegliere il canale ed il Volume MASTER desiderato sul Cobra (per es. CRUNCH MASTER 2). Ora premere STORE per memorizzare questo settaggio – il LED si spegne. I dati esistenti non verranno sovrascritti senza adoperare il pulsante STORE. (Tutte le operazioni degli interruttori eseguite in modo manuale avvranno la priorità, ma non saranno memorizzate automaticamente).
2. Il controllo dell’amplificatore con i pulsanti
Si possono utilizzare anche i messaggi di Control Change MIDI per la commutazione del Cobra con l’ausilio della tabella sottostante nella quale i valori di Controllo possono essere tra 0 e 127.

per ovviare problemi di rumore, microfonicità ecc. - Usare soltanto un cavo in buone condizioni per il collegamento dell’amplificatore alla rete. Si raccomanda di assicurare che
il voltaggio di rete corresponde a quella contrassegnata sul pannello in vicinanza alla presa di corrente dell’amplificatore. - Si raccomanda di effettuare la connessione dell’apparecchio ad una presa di terra!
L’amplificatore deve essere portato presso un centro assistenza per un controllo da tecnici qualificati se:
- iI cavo d’alimentazione o la presa sono danneggiati - all'interno dell’apparecchio sono caduti degli oggetti o del liquido - è stato esposto alla pioggia o eccessiva umidità - l’apparecchio non sembra funzionare normalmente o dimostra un evidente calo di prestazioni - è caduto o lo chassis è danneggiato

Da utilizzare con il Loop per effetti (EFFECT SEND ed EFF. RETURN) situato sul pannello posteriore. L’EFFECT MIX permette il dosaggio degli effetti nell’ambiente del suono generale. Ruotando il controllo completamente in senso orario produrrà un suono con l’effetto al 100% (vale a dire senza la presenza d’alcun segnale normale) e al contrario, con il controllo nella posizione completamente in senso anti-orario, anullerà totalmente l’effetto, producendo un suono completamente naturale. Si raccomanda di ruotare com pletamente in senzo anti-orario questo controllo quando nessun effetto è inserito nel loop.

L’ACCENSIONE
Presa di rete con fusibile integrato per la connessione del cavo rete. MIDI IN / THRU ed il pulsante STORE fanno parte dell’interfaccia MIDI integrata e sono trattati nell sezione INTERFACCIA MIDI. Prese jack per il collegamento dei pedali per la commutazione tra i tre canali e la selezione tra i due volumi d’uscita (MASTER 1 e MASTER 2). Sono ambidue prese jack stereo e sono pre-MIDI. NON USARE PEDALI DEL TIPO ON/OFF. Si debbono addoperare pedali con l’azione del tipo MOMENTANEO.
Queste due prese jack permettono di effettuare i collegamenti del loop degli effetti. Collegare l’ingresso del dispositivo dell’effetto da utilizzare alla presa SEND e l’uscita dello stesso effetto a quella del RETURN. Questo collegamento costituisce un ‘loop parallelo’ ed il bilanciamento effetto/normale (wet/dry) si controlla tramite il controllo rotativo EFFECT MIX sul pannello di controllo anteriore (vedi pagina precedente). Presa d’uscita di linea per il collegamento ad altri amplificatori di potenza (il segnale è post trasformatore d’uscita – in pratica, i controlli del MASTER, DEEP e PRESENCE influiscono sul segnale di quest’uscita)
Presa per il collegamento delle casse. Sono previste due prese collegate in parallelo. Selettore per accoppiare l’impedenza dell’amplificatore alle casse collegate (vedi anche L’Accensione). per il bias delle valvole di potenza ed il trimpot per aggiustare il bias.
Arco da aggiustare da 25 a 30 MA, max. 35 MA
1. Assicuratevi che almeno una cassa è collegata all’amplificatore tramite la presa SPEAKER OUT, che la capacità di potenza è adeguata e che il tipo di cassa utilizzata è capace di trattare segnali provenienti da chitarre elettriche. Controllare che la posizione del selettore d’impedenza corresponde a quello totale delle casse collegate.

2. Assicuratevi che l’apparecchio è collegato ad una presa di corrente adatta e che qualsiasi dispositivo d’effetto esterno sia collegato correttamente e pronto per l’utilizzo.
3. Ruotare il controllo MASTER completamente in senso anti-orario. 4. Collegare una chitarra alla presa INPUT dell’amplificatore tramite un cavo schermato. 5. Accendere l’amplificatore tramite l’interruttore POWER. 6. Dopo un breve periodo di riscaldamento, portare l’interruttore STANDBY in posizione ‘ON’ (verso l’alto). 7. Scegliere il volume desiderato ruotando il controllo MASTER. 8. Selezionare il canale e regolare i controlli di questo per ottenere il suono preferito per ciascun canale. (vedi anche la
sezione "Esempi di Settaggi"). Per acquistare familiarità con il suono di base dell’amplificatore, posizionare tutti controlli rotativi in posizione ‘ore 12’.

INTERFACCIA MIDI
Il Cobra è implementato con un’interfaccia MIDI. Quest’interfaccia permette di controllare tutte le funzioni degli interruttori via MIDI. Inoltre l’interfaccia permette di assegnare un numero di MIDI Program ai settaggi usati per gli interruttori che possono essere memorizzati successivamente. I messaggi MIDI ricevuti dal Cobra si possono anche trasmettere ad altri dispositivi MIDI. L’interfaccia riceve tutti i dati MIDI dalla presa MIDI IN per trasmetterli agli altri dispositivi tramite la presa MIDI THRU. L’interfaccia riceve i dati su tutti i canali MIDI di ricezione. Si prega di prestare attenzione alla tabella sottostante. Per esempio: per selezionare Canale 3 si deve tener premuti tutti due i pulsanti CLEAN e CRUNCH al momento dell’accensione dell’am- plificatore.

I messaggi di Program Change si possono Change per i controlli da 1 a 4 (BBh 01h xxh, BBh 02h xxh, BBh 03h xxh, BBh 04h xxh, dove “xxh” può essere qualsiasi valore tra 00h ... 7 Fh). Due possibilità di controllo principali sono a disposizione:
1. Salvattaggio del programmma ed il successivo ricaricamento.
Per assegnare i settaggi tasti del Cobra ad un programma MIDI, fare come segue: mandare al Cobra il numero di pro gramma di scelta, che sarà utilizzato in seguito per ricaricare lo stesso settaggio. Si accenderà il LED rosso sopra il pulsante STORE sul pannello posteriore di controllo. A questo punto, scegliere il canale ed il Volume MASTER desiderato sul Cobra (per es. CRUNCH MASTER 2). Ora premere STORE per memorizzare questo settaggio – il LED si spegne. I dati esistenti non verranno sovrascritti senza adoperare il pulsante STORE. (Tutte le operazioni degli interruttori eseguite in modo manuale avvranno la priorità, ma non saranno memorizzate automaticamente).
2. Il controllo dell’amplificatore con i pulsanti
Si possono utilizzare anche i messaggi di Control Change MIDI per la commutazione del Cobra con l’ausilio della tabella sottostante nella quale i valori di Controllo possono essere tra 0 e 127.

ADVICE FOR THE USER
In order that your device should function reliably, please follow the following recommendations :
- Never open the amplifier case! You might receive an electric shock. - Do not expose the device to dust, excessive humidity, direct sunlight or extremes of temperature. - Make sure there is adequate ventilation at the back of the device. - Do not subject the device to excessive vibration or violent jolts as these could damage the valves (tubes). - After using the device, allow around 10 minutes for the valves to cool down before moving it. - Always place the device on a stable, horizontal surface - Never place the device on a soft surface such as a carpet or cushion. - Avoid operating the device near radiators or devices that generate significant heat. - The adjustment or cleaning of internal parts should only ever be undertaken by qualified service engineers. - Take care not to allow liquid or small objects of any kind to penetrate the device. - Never operate the device without a load attached (e.g. when there are no speakers connected). - At power-up, the valves (tubes) need at least 30 seconds to warm up before achieving operation readiness and an addition
al few minutes before they can deliver full power. - When changing the valves, replace them with only with valves selected by Framus, to avoid problems like noise, microphon
ism and imbalance. (special selection criteria). - Only a high quality, undamaged mains lead (power cord) should be used to power the device. Before switching on, make
sure the mains voltage corresponds with the voltage indicated by a checkmark alongside the mains socket of the amplifier. - Always make sure the device is earthed (grounded)!
Make sure the device is examined by qualified maintenance engineers whenever :
- the mains lead (power cord) or mains plug (power cord input ) have been damaged - liquid or any small object has been allowed to penetrate the case - the device has been exposed to excessive humidity - the device has been malfunctioning or abnormal operating conditions have been observed - the device has been dropped or the case damaged.

Sockets to implement the effects loop. Connect the input of the effects device to the SEND socket and its output to the RETURN socket. This is a parallel effects loop and the Wet/Dry balance can be controlled using the EFFECT MIX rotary control. When no effects are connected please turn it fully counter-clockwise. Socket for the connection of speaker cabinets. Selector switch used to match the impedance to the connected speakers. (see also under 'Powering Up').

POWERING UP
1. Make sure that one (or more) loudspeaker cabinet(s) are connected to the SPEAKER OUT socket, that it (they) has (have) an adequate power handling capability and is (are) suitable for guitar signals. Check that the impedance selector switch on the device corresponds with the total load impedance of the connected speaker(s).
2. Make sure that the device is plugged in to the mains and that any external (effects) devices are correctly connected and operation ready.
3. Turn the MASTER control all the way to the left. 4. Connect your guitar to the INPUT of the amplifier using a screened cable. 5. Turn the device on using the POWER switch. 6. When the valve (tube) warm-up phase is complete, turn the STANDBY switch on (upwards). 7. To obtain the desired sound for each channel, select the channel and adjust the controls.
To familiarize yourself with the basic sound of the amplifier, set all the rotary controls to 12 o'clock (straight-up).
CONCLUDING ADVICE

When using the FX Loop on the rear panel the EFFECT MIX allows you to dial in the desired amount of effected signal into your overall sound. Turning the control fully clock wise will result in a fully effected sound, i.e. no dry signal and turning the control fully counter-clockwise will result in a fully dry sound. When no effects are connected please turn it fully counter-clockwise.

Sockets for the footswitches that are used to switch between the three channels and to switch between the two output volumes (MASTER 1 and MASTER 2). These are both stereo sockets and are prior to MIDI. Don't use latching switches, please use momentary (unlatch) switches.
Sockets to implement the effects loop. Connect the input of the effects device to the SEND socket and its output to the RETURN socket. This is a parallel effects loop and the Wet/Dry balance can be controlled using the EFFECT MIX rotary control on the front panel (see above). For connecting of other Power Amps (Signal behind output transformer i.e. MASTER, DEEP & PRESENCE-Controls have influence on this output) Socket for the connection of speaker cabinets. Two sockets are provided, both of them are internally switched parallel. Selector switch used to match the impedance to the connected speakers. (see also under 'Powering Up').
1. Make sure that one (or more) loudspeaker cabinet(s) are connected to the SPEAKER OUT socket, that it (they) has (have) an adequate power handling capability and is (are) suitable for guitar signals. Check that the impedance selector switch on the device corresponds with the total load impedance of the connected speaker(s).

2. Make sure that the device is plugged in to the mains and that any external (effects) devices are correctly connected and operation ready.
3. Turn the MASTER control all the way to the left 4. Connect your guitar to the INPUT of the amplifier using a screened cable. 5. Turn the device on using the POWER switch. 6. When the valve(tube) warm-up phase is complete, turn the STANDBY switch on (upwards). 7. Set the desired volume using the MASTER control. 8. To obtain the desired sound for each channel, select the channel and adjust the controls. (See further under the heading
"Example Settings"). To familiarize yourself first of all with the basic sound of the amplifier, set all the rotary controls to 12 o'clock.

MIDI INTERFACE
The Dragon features an integrated MIDI interface. This enables all the switching functions of the device to be controlled via MIDI. It also allows a MIDI program number to be assigned to the switch settings which can then be stored. MIDI messages received by the Dragon can also be forwarded to other devices. The interface receives MIDI data via the MIDI IN socket and passes it on to other devices via the MIDI THRU.
The Interface receives Data on all MIDI-Channels. Please pay attention to the Tab below. An example: When you want to select Channel 3 you have to push both the Buttons for CLEAN and for CRUNCH while turning power on.

Program change messages can be messages for controllers 1 to 4 (BBh 01h xxh, BBh 02h xxh, BBh 03h xxh, BBh 04h xxh, where "xxh” may be any value between 00h ... 7 Fh). As a result, there are two principal control options:
1. Program saving and reloading
To assign the key settings of your Dragon to a MIDI program please do the following: Send your Dragon the favoured program number which will be used later to reload the setting. The red LED above the STORE button on the rear con- trol panel lights up. Now select the desired channel and the MASTER Volume on your Dragon (e.g. CRUNCH MASTER 2). Now you push STORE and the setting is saved – the LED turns off. If you fail to press STORE, the existing data will not be overwritten. (Manual switching has priority but is not stored automatically).
2. Control using the buttons
You can also use MIDI Controller messages for the Dragon ́s switching using the following table in which Controller values may lie anywhere between 0 to 127.

CONCLUDING ADVICE
- This amplifier is capable of generating high volume levels that can cause hearing damage - At high GAIN settings, feedback between the guitar and the speakers may occur and this can cause hearing damage as
well as damage to connected loudspeakers. - Remove the power cord whenever changing a fuse! - Only ever replace a fuse with another of the same type. Never bridge defective fuses. - Valves can become very hot. - Don't undertake repairs yourself. - Only allow the case to be opened by qualified personnel. - Repairs and valve changes should only be undertaken by qualified personnel. - Never use floor pedal effects in the effects loop; as such devices have the wrong connection values.

Congratulations on your purchase of a Framus Cobra amp head. Please read this manual before connecting the device and switching on. If you follow the advice given in this manual, you will soon be in a position to take full advantage of the quality of your new Framus amplifier. Please retain this manual as you may need to consult it again.
ADVICE FOR THE USER
In order that your device should function reliably, please follow the following recommendations :
- Never open the case! You might receive an electric shock. - Do not expose the device to dust, excessive humidity, direct sunlight or extremes of temperature. - Make sure there is adequate ventilation at the back of the device. - Do not subject the device to excessive vibration or violent jolts as these could damage the valves (tubes). - After using the device, allow around 10 minutes for the valves to cool down before moving it. - Always place the device on a stable, horizontal surface - Never place the device on a soft surface such as a carpet or cushion. - Avoid operating the device near radiators or devices that generate significant heat. - The adjustment or cleaning of internal parts should only ever be undertaken by qualified service engineers. - Take care not to allow liquid or small objects of any kind to penetrate the device. - Never operate the device without a load attached (e.g. when there are no speakers connected) - At power-up, the valves (tubes) need at least 30 seconds to warm up before achieving operation readiness and a further few
minutes before they can deliver full power. - When changing the valves, replace them with only with valves selected by Framus, to avoid problems like noise,
microphonism and imbalance. - Only a high quality, undamaged mains lead (power cord) should be used to power the device. Before switching on, make
sure the mains voltage corresponds with the voltage indicated by a checkmark alongside the mains socket of the amplifier. - Always make sure the device is earthed (grounded)!
Make sure the device is examined by qualified maintenance engineers whenever :
- the mains lead or mains plug have been damaged - liquid or any small object has been allowed to penetrate the case - the device has been exposed to excessive humidity - the device has been malfunctioning or abnormal operating conditions have been observed - the device has been dropped or the case damaged.

When using the FX Loop on the rear panel the EFFECT MIX allows you to dial in the desired amount of effected signal into your overall sound. Turning the control fully clock wise will result in a fully effected sound, (i.e. no dry signal) and turning the control fully counter-clockwise will result in a fully dry sound. When no effects are connected please turn it fully counter-clockwise.
This control sets the level of low frequencies in the power amplifier. Control to set overall volume level 1 Control to set overall volume level 2 Activates Clean Channel and deactivates the other channels (LED lights up green when activated)

AC terminal with integrated fuse compartment for connection to the mains power supply MIDI IN-/THRU-Jacks and STORE-Button belong to the integrated MIDI Interface and will be explained separately. Sockets for the footswitches that are used to switch between the three channels and to switch between the two output volumes (MASTER 1 and MASTER 2). These are both stereo sockets and are prior to MIDI. Don't use latching switches, please use momentary (unlatch) switches.
