Bio
Born to a Malaysian father and a Taiwanese mother, my parents initially spoke to me in Malaysian English only. By the age of 6 I started speaking Chinese with my mother and only used English when speaking with my dad. When I was 7, I went to a local Chinese primary school (all the textbooks were in Chinese, unless the textbook was a language textbook for English or BM) and started dabbling in the art of translating, occasionally spending my free time with 2 or 3 billingual or even trilingual dictionaries in my hands (My command of the English language was still much, much more superior than my command of both Chinese and BM, and I had to learn quickly to catch up lest I fall behind my classmates in school).
After graduating from primary school, I began my life as a national secondary school student. The curriculum was in English for subjects such as Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Mathematics and it was in BM for all other subjects except Chinese. Also, my schoolmates were no longer 99% Chinese-speaking students. I used at least 3 different languages in daily conversation (I still do so till this day, due to the unique multicultural society in my country). As such, I became very proficient in English, Chinese and Malay.
Thanks to the uniquely Malaysian blend of cultures, languages and religions, I have grown up in a multilingual environment and learned to be tolerant of others. I hereby offer my services to whoever may require them at reasonable rates.
