Hi there! I'm Amy, a freelance translator, writer, editor and proofreader currently based in Washington D.C. I recently returned from a three-year stint in Tokyo, where I studied Japanese literature at Jouchi Daigaku and honed my Japanese skills to working proficiency/N2. During that time, I also contracted as a translator and proofreader for individual clients.
In addition to working freelance, I also have experience as a private English teacher, in addition to having worked as a content creator for an early-stage startup and as a reviewer for a blog about Japanese culture.
My writing background and native American English allow me to provide both translation and proofreading at an affordable price — so there's no need to worry about whether your translation flows well and is tailored to the right target audience.
You can see my writing portfolio at http://ehmii.com
I've studied Japanese for seven years and have experience translating many types of writing, including (but certainly not limited to): marketing copy, emails, articles and essays/research papers.
I'm always seeking new gigs that will allow me to flex both my writing and language muscles, so please don't hesitate to contact me.
My turnaround time varies based on document length, but is typically under 24 hours.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
