Bio
I am a bilingual university-trained translator (PGDip Translation with Distinction) and interpreter (Cert. in Liaison Interpreting). I also hold a veterinary degree and I am a NZ and German registered practicing veterinarian. My working languages are English (US, British, Australian, and New Zealand) and German (German, Austrian, and Swiss). I am a full member of the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters (NZSTI) and I am NZSTI-accredited to work into both language directions. I specialize in life sciences and culture-related translations and feel privileged to be able to combine my passion and aptitude for language and writing with my extensive domain knowledge. Born in Germany, I have lived in the US, Australia and England before finally settling in New Zealand in 1992. As I am based in New Zealand (GMT+12), for short texts, and by arrangement, I can provide overnight translation services for customers based in or around the GMT time zone. Simply send your document in the evening and receive the translation the following morning.
