My name is Peter and I am the founder of Peafield Freelance. For the past eight years I have been studying and researching for my Bachelors and my Masters degree. My BA was in Japanese studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. During my studies I was taught Japanese to a high level, which also involved written and spoken translation. I also spent one year at Kobe University in Japan where I did a variety of courses in Japanese and taught English as a tutor.
My MA was a Research Master in Area Studies, Japanese Studies at Leiden University in The Netherlands. This course involved researching and translating at an extremely high academic level. For my final paper I have written on the contemporary Japanese author Murakami Ryū and the concept of a liquid modern society.
I also have acquired the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at Level 2 (Native Japanese) and I have taken a Teaching English as a Foreign Language course that has taught me many skills in how to teach English effectively.
Along side my studies, I have also worked for the D&AD Awards as their in house translator and as a freelance editor, tutor and translator.
As a result of my studies and the other qualifications I have gained, I have extensive experience in both editing, tutoring and translation and I want to offer these services to you.
