Asset: The underlying index, stock, currency or commodity that each trade is based on.
In the Money: A term that means that the investment was successful. The option expired at a higher rate than the rate when purchased if you choose a Call option or the option expired at a lower rate than the purchased rate if you chose a Put option.
Out of the Money: A term that means that the investment was unsuccessful and the expiration rate was lower than the purchase rate if you chose a Call option or the expiration rate was higher than the purchase rate if you chose a Put option.
Expiry Rate: The price of the underlying asset at the time the option expires. This price determines whether the option is in the money, out of the money or at the money.
Execution Rate: The entry rate at the time the investor makes a trade.
Put Option: An option where the trader believes that the rate will be lower than the purchased rate at the time of expiration.
Call Option: An option where the trader believes that the rate will be higher than the purchased rate at the time of expiration.
Ask: Price at which the trader can buy an asset in the markets. The ask price is part of the formula used to calculate the expiry level of an asset.
Market Price: The current price of the asset based on Nordex's data provider.
Return: This term refers to the total amount you would receive on your investment if your trade ends in the money.
Underlying Asset: This is the index, commodity, stock or currency that you chose to trade.
At the Money: This term is used when a trade expires at the same rate that it was purchased at.
Indices: This is a group of stocks that are traded on the same exchange.
Stocks: Stocks confirm that the holder of stocks has purchased a percent of a company and as such is entitled to a profit sharing relative to the percent he has in the company.
Commodities: This term refers to raw materials from a variety of sectors such as energy, metals and food.
Currency: The system of monetary units (money) in common use in the exchange of goods normally representing a country.
Double-up: A strategy in which a trader doubles a current trade's position in an asset when an adverse price movement occurs. Doubling up lowers risk, minimizes loss and helps the trader to earn a larger return when the security moves in a favorable direction.
Roll-over: A trading action where a trader opens a position over a current trade at a new current rate with different expiration time in the same direction.
Flexibility: Your account's ability to absorb gains and losses without causing damage to your finances. It's the number one tool in overall risk reduction.
Pair Trading: Is the correlation between two securities, enabling traders to profit from virtually any market condition on the price difference of the compared securities. It's most popular with currency trading.
Short-term Trade: Trades ranging in expiry time from 60 seconds up to 24 hours.
Long-term Trade: Trades ranging in expiry time from over 24 hours till the maximum allowed time in the system.
Forex: A common term used in relation to currency trading.
Bid: The price at which an investor can sell an asset in the financial markets.
