Source text - English While we understand your concern, our policy states that we do not investigate the use of trademarks as keywords.
Google is dedicated to providing the most relevant advertising available to our users, advertisers, and publishers. Our reasoning behind this policy is to provide our users with greater access to relevant information. We believe that trademarks shouldn't reduce the number of options available to consumers, but should instead help differentiate various products and services. Our policy therefore aims to provide our users with more choices, while at the same time mitigating potential confusion about the origin of the ads. Google will continue to perform courtesy investigations related to the use of trademarks in ad text. Learn more about our trademark policy.
For complaints involving keywords in the EU/EFTA:
Google will not prevent the use of trademarks as keywords in the EU/EFTA regions. However, in response to a complaint, we may do a limited investigation to see whether a keyword and ad text is confusing users about the origin of an ad. If we find that it is, we'll remove the specific ad that is the subject of the complaint. For a list of affected regions within the EU/EFTA, please see our trademark policy.
Google is not in the position of arbitrating trademark disputes between advertisers and trademark owners. As stated in the Google AdWords Terms and Conditions, advertisers are responsible for the keywords and ad text that they choose to use. Accordingly, we encourage trademark owners to resolve their disputes directly with advertisers, particularly because advertisers may have similar advertisements on other sites.
In order to submit a trademark complaint or authorization, you will need the headquarters of the trademark owner to send us a notice that you are authorized to act on their behalf. They can send an email to [email protected] verifying that you are "authorized to act on our behalf with respect to Google AdWords trademark matters."
