Hello! I translate from Russian and French in English and have an MA (merit) in Applied Translation Studies from the University of Leeds. I work in SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ and Déjà Vu, and have some experience with Passolo. I have great attention to detail, am conscientious, hard-working, and would love to help with your translation or proofreading needs.
My undergraduate degree was in French and Russian, and included a year abroad studying at Moscow State University and a term abroad studying at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France. Before beginning my MA, I taught English as foreign language for a year in Leeds, and then in Russia for a year.
I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent in both France and Russia, meeting new people and learning about the culture. Before starting university I also spent time teaching English in Moldova and Senegal which enabled me to think more deeply about my own language and to pass on my knowledge of it whilst learning about the languages and cultures of these countries.
I have always participated in numerous extra-curriculum activities; I have reached grade 8 on the piano, grade 6 on the 'cello and level 4 figure skating and have experience teaching piano. I love the English language and have been an avid reader from an early age. The TESOL course I did in 2009 gave me further awareness of the English language and enabled me to explain and express its usages.
