I was privileged to have received extensive training in the languages I have listed. It was common, in Germany, to receive instruction in a second language as of age 10, when you entered High School. For me this language was English, and we received daily lessons for 9 years.
2 years later French was added, and I chose both languages as my main academic focus.
In 1976 I moved to Canada, to the French speaking province of Quebec where I worked in the field of agriculture for 16 years.
In 1992 I began to work as an insurance agent and sold disability insurance for 5 years having taken training for this work in French since I worked in the province of Quebec.
I then decided to fulfill a long-time wish and become a Massage Therapist. Again I received all my training in French. After 9 years of practice, having decided to work in Ontario, I needed to re-train to comply with the requirements of becoming certified and registered in Ontario, where my profession is provincially regulated.
This time I received all the training in English.
This training includes ethics and professionalism, anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, Pathophysiology, massage theory, training in various treatment modalities, business training, best practice, research theory, remedial exercises, orthopedic assessments and much more.
I have now been working in the paramedical field for 17 years and this is were my greatest level of confidence lies, where it concerns working on translations and interpretations.
Over the years I have taken pride in translating from French and German to English and also vice versa.
I am fluent and confident in conversing in English, both in the spoken and the written form.
Case studies and reports are frequently required either by government agencies, insurance companies, law firms or other health professionals and training facilities, either in English, German or in French, and I have developed facility in providing those on a regular basis.
As I indicated in my profile I have many and varied interests. To give example I might recite my experiences in the field of forestry production, canine breeding and showing, organic gardening, home based wool production, cheese, wine and bread making, herbal lore, esoteric studies, ancient history and origin of man, creation of garments, painting and fine arts and not to forget culinary creations.
There are many more, and I feel excited to be able to put some of my expertise to good use, by providing quality work to you, the client, who will entrust his or her work to me.
Please note: I have endorsed the professional guidelines posted on this site.
I will update this text as changes arise.
