Although still improving my German after living in Germany for 16+ years, I am fluent enough to translate from German into English at a very high level.
I have been working as an English language trainer at companies throughout the Rhein Man area of Germany since 2005. What brought me to this was a life-long love of the English language, a thorough knowledge of the language and working for 17 years in New York City as a literary agent, literary consultant, freelance transcriber and editor of many novels, medical journal pieces, film scripts, plays, union contracts and other legal documents, such as opinion letters, affidavits, etc., and articles for various music, psychology, and medical trade journals, as well as mainstream novels.
My mission is to consistently provide my client with as exact a translation as I can possibly render which still makes sense in the English language. I find that many of my legal clients, while being very pleased with my own work, have been sorely disappointed in the past by the work of others. I believe this is because one needs to be comfortably conversant with both languages and have actual working experience in the field of law in order to find that perfect balance in translating one to the other. I believe I possess that balance.
