Graduate of Leeds University (2:1). Now studying an MA in Applied Translation Studies with French and Spanish, also at Leeds University. Passionate about languages and translation. Interested in freelance or in-house translation (both French and Spanish), project management or any other role related to this field (for example: EU and UN). Also keen to explore tutoring opportunities and open to careers in marketing, advertising, event management and teaching, both in the UK or abroad. Confident using wide selection of CAT tools and also currently working as a volunteer translator for the GIMUN journal, "UNO, You Know?", which is an online platform containing articles written by student journalists on the various conferences taking place at the UN office in Geneva. My role involves collaborating with journalists and editors and translating their articles from French into English for online publication.
I am a happy, friendly person and am willing to work very hard. Determined and outgoing, I thoroughly enjoy working with others. Throughout my school and university education, gap year and previous employment, I have learnt many skills which I believe I can transfer into any working environment. I am enthusiastic and motivated, believe I work well under pressure and will rise to any challenge that is given to me. My hobbies include; languages, skiing, swimming, travelling, cooking, theatre and music. I am the Social Rep for my MA course and part of a ‘Reporters’ team for the University’s series of professionalisation talks. I have also been a Project Manager for a localisation project carried out as part of the CAT tool module I am studying.
