My name is Gonzalo García and I am an EN/FR>ES translator. I have a strong passion for languages I am highly interested in continuing growing professionally and making a significant contribution as a translator/proofreader. Today I am seeking new in-house and freelance translation opportunities that allow me to test my abilities, push my limits and take on new challenges as a language expert.

I am a native Spanish speaker. My working languages are English and French. I graduated from the University of Salamanca (Spain) with a Master´s Degree in Translation and Intercultural Mediation. Previously I graduated from the University of Granada (Spain) with a Bachelor´s Degree in English Language and Civilization.

I have been working as a freelance translator for several organizations since 2008. This experience has contributed to me developing and upgrading my translation and proofreading skills by working on a wide variety of texts, such as legal, news, healthcare, human resources, and general (for NGO Doctors of the World); website content, tourist and legal (for Booking.com); and audiovisual, communication, marketing, and civil engineering (for Softitrage Com and CinéCim vidéo), among other specialties and companies.

I strongly believe I have developed a strong attention to detail and outstanding time management skills. My work has also included managing translation memories and updating terminology databases through the use of CAT tools, such as Wordfast and GTT, among others. These have contributed to a higher quality of my work. Furthermore, working as a Spanish-speaking movie transcriber and subtitler has strengthened my ability to set priorities accordingly in a multi-task and fast-paced environment. I also feel I have developed excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills, since I have managed to liaise with clients and other freelancers efficiently for the completion of group projects under tight deadlines and considerable stress.

In summary, I believe I have the necessary technical qualifications and multifaceted professional experience to make a significant contribution as a translator/proofreader, and I would be proud to contribute my skills, motivation, and enthusiasm to a company committed to provide accurate and appropriate language services worldwide.
