I'm an ex-journalist and public relations consultant with a very wide range of professional experience - from PR in the wave energy sector, to Ministerial media adviser, to reporting from some of the most remote rural areas in Ireland.

In 2009 I moved to France (and married my French childhood sweetheart!) and I have been living here ever since, slowly building up translation experience and making the most of my degree in French and Irish. I am currently studying for the WLS certificate and the CIOL diploma. I am a member of the Irish Translators' and Interpreters' Association.

Regarding my Irish language background, most of my schooling was through Irish and throughout my entire career as a journalist and a public relations consultant I worked either partially or exclusively through Irish. This meant that translating from Irish into English and vice versa was practically a daily task - generally to very tight deadlines.

I love translating. I love finding just the right word to express appropriately the meaning of the source text. Most of all, I love helping people to communicate - corny, but true!
