my name is Valeria Abate and I am an Italian translator and sinologist. I got a master degree in East Asian Languages and Culture in 2013, at Ca’ Foscari University, Venice.
Short after graduation I cooperated to the English translation of the novel How stubborn our hearts, by Ye Zhaoyan, and I worked as a translator for CSOFT ( ), a translation company based in Beijing, where I worked on different project, included medical, marketing, IT and technical material (CSOFT has major clients such as DELL, WD, General Electric, KODAK, etc.).
Furthermore, last year I attended a master in Editorial Translation at Tuttoeuropa school in Turin, where we translated the novel Devoted Ladies, by Molly Keane, and this year I'm attending a Master Degree in Audiovisual translation (dubbing and subtitling) which also focuses on accessibility. This Master also puts an emphasis on technical-scientific and juridic translation from French and English into Italian.
Finally, since November I am cooperating with a patent translation agency, where I'm working on mechanical and medical patents.
