My name is Fernanda Vanz Teixeira, I am Brazilian native and I work as a freelance translator from English to Portuguese.
My story with translation began some time ago.
I have always had great involvement and pleasure in studying languages, specially English.
To my improvement in English, I studied in an excellent language school in my country (Cultura Inglesa), and I like to be constantly reading, watching movies and lectures on / in English.
I am currently attending a training program for literary translators in Casa Guilherme de Almeida. This course lasts one year and has unique quality. Here in Brazil it is the most requested and renowned course on literary translation.
Professionally, I worked with languages and education.
From 2008 to 2009 I worked at Centro de Apoio Pedagógico Especializado - a government institution responsible for the inclusion of students with hearing and visual impairment - translating didactic and paradidactic from Portuguese to Braille.
In 2011 I worked in Bienal de São Paulo as a cultural educator in a program that aimed to bring public and private schools activities with art and cinema. In Bienal I could contribute to the project with my knowledge on Braille and English.
Currently I give private classes in English and humanities and I am finishing the philosophy faculty – Universidade Federal de São Paulo - graduating in bachelor and bachelor's degree.
