Bio
I am Norwegian, my mother tongue is Norwegian and I have always liked reading very much. Before my engineering studies, I worked three years in a multi-lingual website editorial office as a writer, journalist, translator and proofreader. I mainly worked in Norwegian, but also did a lot in English. I also did some German. I did a lot of proofreading and text consulting in Norwegian, often improving texts already translated from English by others. But it was often easy to spot that the texts was not originally in Norwegian, so then I got the task. In this work, being a native Norwegian speaker was invaluable.
I also did proofreading and text consulting for an advertising agency making product catalogues.
The last years I have worked as an mechanical engineer in the oil and gas industry in Norway. It is a very international business, and almost all communication – oral and written – was in English.
I now work part time with translation, proofreading and text consulting, making very much use of my skills within technical subjects.
