About me
I held multiple jobs that required advanced language ability and management skills, such as a senior English tutor, an interpreter and translator, and as an assistant to an international photographer. I believe holding these positions while simultaneously achieving good grades shows my capability to work under pressure and organise my time efficiently. After completing my degree in Linguistics and Literature, I worked as a project based mobile game translator (from Japanese to English). My work was well evaluated and I was designated project leader of an in game event, in which I had the creative opportunity to design characters and write stories from scratch in English. After completing the project, I took a position in video game localisation at Ubisoft, one of the world’s leading game companies, where I enjoyed facilitating communication between several international studios in order to control the quality of translations. I also utilised my dialectological knowledge when casting voice actors, assigning several dialects from the southern part of Japan to simulate the variety of dialects in the original English version.
