Born and brought up in the UK, I have been servicing the translation and voiceover needs of radio and television stations, advertising agencies, production companies, corporations, small business and individual clients across the globe for the past ten years or so.

Before moving to bilingual Montreal in 2013, I lived in France. In fact, I have spent over half my life there, so I speak fluent French, have worked within French speaking companies, have a French husband, and a perfect understanding of French culture, expressions and subtilities.

Some of my recent projects include a series of artist biographies, sponsorship proposals, fundraising appeals for high profile charities and one prominent political party, as well as daily news segments and lifestyle pieces for a Paris based international news and current affairs television network. I have worked in the audiovisual industry for near on nine years, so I also pride myself on quick and thorough fact checking, for "just in time" productions.

I do not offer or use machine translation. I will always take the time to research a project and its target audience before I take it on, to get a sound grasp of the subject matter and where its heading. Which is why I refuse some projects. You`ll never see Amy T at the end of a translation on quantum physics for example ...

I work on a price per word basis, which ranges from 0,05 $ CAD to 0,20 $ CAD per word, depending on :

The volume of work and likelihood of future collaborations

The source : is it a web page, a word document, an audio file, a video, do we need to transcribe the files … ?

The subject matter : how much technical language or industry jargon is there … ?

The turnaround times : do you need your document within the next 2 hours, 10 hours, over the weekend, within the next two weeks …?
Keywords: fast and thorough fact checking for "just in time" productions, French to English, subtitles, reported speech, documentary proposals, audiovisual, lifestyle magazines, international news reports, historical documentaries, radio, news,
