I have worked with language for more than 15 years as a Teacher, trainer and translator. Translation is a fascinating area of work. Although I am comparatively new to the field I deliver excellent work and am a reliable listener who likes to work with the client to achieve top quality results.
In order to be a good translator it is not necessary to have a degree - I don't have one.
I come from a place and time when young men were told to get out to work and stay working. Which I did. I have worked hard ever since and learned about the industries where I worked.
The mentality of people who have to go to work and stick at it dictates that when it's time to learn something they get a book and start reading and studying (they don't stop working and go to university).
I do this and I study hard and learn what I need to be able to get on in life.
I am new to translation. In order to prepare myself for the translation industry I studied German from books and in the country. I learned and am successful with my learning.
My interest in business and marketing is keen. I got books and read and studied them and then discovered that I need to keep reading to keep up with the industry and the changing times. That's fine with me because the subject is very interesting.
I'm still fully engaged in both study and work. My hope is to establish myself as a translator who businesses can trust and know to deliver translations exactly as they are needed.
