I was born and raised in Sweden to Uruguayan parents, whereby Spanish has been my first language and Swedish my second. I have studied both languages in school for 12 years and have also studied both at university level.
English I have been taught since I was 9 years old in school, and I have studied in the UK for six years including at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
French I have studied for 8 years including at university level where I attained "Proficiency" level as defined by the University of Sussex. Alot of my French studies involved translation and interpretation.
In general, I am very apt with languages and understanding the true meaning behind expressions and idioms. I think the key to good translation is comprehending this intention, and adapting any translation to reflect it's inherent meaning.
As I have been multi-lingual all my life, I have no shortage of immediate translation and intepretation, particularly between Swedish-English-Spanish. Since finishing my postgraduate studies in the UK, I have been working as an independent translator and researcher for a temporary contract on behalf of the International Labour Organisation.
