I am a freelance translator, interpreter and researcher with four years of experience working both full and part time. I hold a first class degree in Middle Eastern Studies (Arabic) from the University of Cambridge, where I came top of the class in Arabic language. I also maintain a blog (Team Maha) producing and presenting resources for learners of colloquial Syrian Arabic, and am working on a book. My previous projects include translation work for a high profile journalist's book, for the Encyclopaedia of Islam, for academic papers on refugee issues (including 15 hours of audio interviews), and training materials for mental health volunteers in Jordan. I have also worked for two years as an interpreter and support worker for Syrian refugees in London, and contributed to Wordreference's Arabic dictionary. I work on both Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) texts and on dialect audio, in particular Syrian.
