English to Portuguese: The Closed Treatment of Common Fractures by John Charley General field: Medical
Source text - English In the supracondylar fracture of the humerus the fracture line passes more or less transversely through the metaphysis at a variable distance from the epiphyseal line. When the fracture line is extremely close to the epiphyseal line it sometimes appears in the X-ray almost as an epiphyseal separation, but in every case a thin shell of the diaphysis is adherent to the distal fragment. There are three elements in the displacement of the distal fragment of the supracondylar fracture: (i) posterior displacement, (2) lateral (or medial)
displacement, and (3) rotary displacement.
In the manipulative reduction to be described, the rotary deformity will more or less correct itself under the influence of the tense fascial structures in the course of the preliminary phase of reduction by traction. An error of 10 degrees of rotation will not affect the functional or cosmetic result, though it will give rise to interesting appearances in the radiograph which need special comment (see below).

Source text - English WHAT IS TO BE DONE ABOUT IDENTITY?
My argument so far is that, if for no other reason, identification matters because it is the basic cognitive mechanism that humans use to sort out themselves and their fellows, individually and collectively. This is a ‘baseline’ sorting that is fundamental to the organisation of the human world: it is how we know who’s who and what’s what. We couldn’t do whatever we do, as humans, without also being able to do this.
On the other hand, identification doesn’t determine behaviour, and patterns of identification don’t allow us to predict who will do what. This is so for a number of reasons: people work with various ‘maps’ or hierarchies of identification, these hierarchies of identification are never clear cut, unambiguous or in consistent agreement with each other, and the relationship between interests and identification is too complex for individual behaviour to be predictable in these terms.

Translation - Portuguese O QUE DEVE SER FEITO EM RELAÇÃO À IDENTIDADE?

Years of experience: 11. Registered at ProZ.com: Sep 2015.
I am a native Portuguese speaker with a bachelor's degree in Languages, Linguistics and Literatures, a five-year study program which was completed in the University of São Paulo. During my time in university, I decided to focus on translation studies, and have concluded, along with the Portuguese Studies program, a German Studies program. I am now completing my Master's degree in Latin American Studies at the Free University of Berlin.
I have worked in the most diverse technical translation areas, which included medical, chemical, and legal documents, and I am familiar with every step of the editorial process of book publishing and video subtitling. Currently, I write, translate, proofread, and edit different types of materials for various clients, from video game QA testing to legal agreements.
