"The Authors Guild, the Association of American Publishers (AAP), and Google today announced a groundbreaking settlement agreement on behalf of a broad class of authors and publishers worldwide that would expand online access to millions of in-copyright books and other written materials in the U.S. from the collections of a number of major U.S. libraries participating in Google Book Search. The agreement, reached after two years of negotiations, would resolve a class-action lawsuit brought by book authors and the Authors Guild, as well as a separate lawsuit filed by five large publishers as representatives of the AAP's membership. The class action is subject to approval by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
"The agreement promises to benefit readers and researchers, and enhance the ability of authors and publishers to distribute their content in digital form, by significantly expanding online access to works through Google Book Search, an ambitious effort to make millions of books searchable via the Web. «Союз авторов, Ассоциация американских издателей (ААИ) и компания Google сегодня объявили о новаторском соглашении, об урегулировании от лица широкого класса авторов и издателей со всего мира. Данное соглашение поспособствует расширить онлайн доступ к миллионам книг охраняемые авторским правом и к другим письменным материалам в США, взятых из нескольких главных библиотек США, которые принимают участие в Google Book Search. Соглашение, заключённое после двух лет переговоров, должно разрешить вопрос с групповым иском, который был подан авторами книг и союзом авторов, а также был подан отдельный иск пятью крупными издателями, выступающих в роли представителей членства Ассоциации американских издателей. Групповой иск подлежит утверждению окружным судом США Южного округа Нью-Йорка.

Theoretical neuroscience provides a quantitative basis for describing what nervous systems do, determining how they function, and uncovering the general principles by which they operate. This text introduces the basic mathematical and computational methods of theoretical neuroscience and presents applications in a variety of areas including vision, sensory-motor integration, development, learning, and memory.
The book is divided into three parts. Part I discusses the relationship between sensory stimuli and neural responses, focusing on the representation of information by the spiking activity of neurons. Part II discusses the modeling of neurons and neural circuits on the basis of cellular and synaptic biophysics. Part III analyzes the role of plasticity in development and learning. La neurociencia teórica proporciona la base cuantitativa para la descripción de lo que hacen los sistemas nerviosos, la determinación de su funcionamiento y la revelación de los principios generales a través de cuales se están funcionando. Ese texto introduce los métodos básicos matemáticas y computacionales de la neurociencia teórica y da la presentación de las aplicaciones en una serie de ámbitos incluyendo la visión, la integración de sensorio-motor, el desarrollo, el aprendizaje y la memoria.
El libro se divide en tres partes. Primera parte discute la relación entre los estímulos sensoriales y las respuestas neurales, centrandose en la representación de la información por la actividad de repunte de los neurones. En segunda parte se trata de la modelación de los neurones y los circuitos neuronales sobre la base de biofísica celular y sináptica. Tercer parte analiza el desempeño de la plasticidad en el desarrollo y aprendizaje. Un apéndice comprende los métodos matemáticos que se usan.
