A teacher in biology-geology and a former student of one of the most selective college in France, I started to work as a free-lance translator in English > French in May 2015. I have always been very fond of English, a language that I learned very young and in which I am almost bilingual. I had the opportunity to live and work for 6 months in Oxford, UK, and improve my language skills. I have also lived in several other countries (Germany, Italy, Vietnam...) always in a very international environment. I also speak Italian (B2 European Level) and German (B1-B2 level).
I am specialized in science especially in geology and biology but I also have good general knowledge in physics, chemistry, astronomy, health, archeology and science history. I am also fond of travelling, gastronomy, music and sailing, and very interested in childcare, political and social news and entertainments such as TV series or movies.
But apart from a good knowledge in the source language, I think a good knowledge of the targeted language is the key to being a good translator, so as to provide a fluent and accurate translation. I have an excellent writing level in French through good experiences in book writing and proofreading. I also followed a distance learning program in journalism that helped me improve my writing skills in French. |
