About me

I am a Korean-New Zealander living in Tauranga, a beautiful coastal city overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I work as a freelancer interpreter and translator; Korean and English for both directions. I enjoy working from home, quietly sitting down before a computer, translating, as much as I enjoy interpreting at many different places such as courts, schools or clinics.

I do not wish to confine myself to a limited number of specialty areas. I believe any competent translator should be able to research into any area, learn fast, and come up with a quality translation that reads natural in the target language. A lot of people think that if you know two languages well, you can translate. Well, that is false more often than not. I was asked to do a lot of translation from university years because I was considered a bilingual; but I must admit that the quality of my then translation outputs were poor compared to those after my completing a masters degree.

Having gone through many years of intensive studying and professional training in the art of putting one language into another, both spoken and written; topped-up with a pursuant career; I should be able to satisfy your needs in translation and/or interpreting from Korean into English or vice versa.
