I have grown in a Caribbean country where English and Spanish are well spoken. So I am bilingual by birth. My native language is 'puerto rican' spanish, though I was born in the Virgin Islands (U.S.) where American English is spoken and taught in our schools. Spanish is taught as a second language. Presently, I interpret at my local church as we are a bilingual church community in the islands. Also I translate written documents from English > Spanish and Spanish > English.
