I am a native speaker of British English. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Interpreting and Translating, passed with distinction, and also have a Ph.D. gained through research and interviews conducted in Russian. I have studied at the State Universities of Leningrad (as it then was) and of Voronezh, have work experience as a translator at CERN and the European Parliament, and lived for a year in Aarhus, Denmark.
I am a great admirer of classic Russian literature as well as of some less celebrated cultural figures such as David Tukhmanov. In Danish literature, I am drawn to the quiet, spare work of Martin Hansen and Helle Helle.
