My name is Jeannette Issa and I am Lebanese. I grew up in a household speaking three languages: French, English and Arabic which makes me perfectly tri-lingual. I have worked for 25 years at a European Embassy in Beirut in several positions, but one of my main duties was doing translations in a variety of subjects including official business and communications, politics, media, laws, agreements, economics, contracts, personal documents, etc...
Twenty years ago, I started freelancing on the side, helping out with a tri-lingual dictionary (English/French/Arabic), copy-writing articles on tourism, accommodation and leisure, as well as brochures for several shops and companies mainly in English and French.
Moreover, in 2009, I got to be the managing and executive director of an NGO dealing with prisoners. I had then to prepare reports, in three languages, about human rights, laws, projects, etc... and I acquired as well an experience in dealing with court matters, judgments, laws' translation.
I have been working as a full-time freelance translator since February 2016. During that time, I used my experience and acquired additional experience in tenders, marketing, information technology, feshion, cosmetics, watches, as well as subtitling.
I am generally very fast in my work, even though I am a perfectionist, and I like to deliver a perfect translation each time. I have a comfortable daily output of 5000 words, which can be upped when necessary.
The best praise I receive is when a satisfied client comes back for another translation, and sometimes it is in another pair !
