Christina Ryan (born in Connecticut, USA) lives in Vienna and works as a freelance translator, journalist and documentarian. She received her BA in Art History and Film Studies from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. During her studies, her concentration focused on contemporary installation art and Islamic art and architecture. She spent many years in Montreal working on various film productions and also served as the chief programmer and curator of exhibitions for the Golden Horn Film Festival, a Canada-wide initiative to promote Turkish cinema. Journalistically, she has been engaged with European publications digesting local news in the English language. Her interests range from curatorial practices, to documentary filmmaking, to the study of language difference - all as manifold means of fostering dialogue aimed at the expansion of understanding, which can ultimately bring people closer together.
