Bio

Grown up bilingual, I am happy to provide freelance translations and revisions by the mother tongue principle (Japanese/English/German>English/German) of medical documents as well as subtitling for Japanese Anime (Simulcast) and rough translation for dubbing.

Through longterm employment in a psychiatric doctor’s office as well as my professional translation experience I am closely familiar with the medical field. Having earned a Master's degree and currently aiming for a PhD in Japanese studies focused on Japanese folklore and mythology, I am well versed in Japanese culture, literature, folklore and mythology (Heian and Edo period) as well as academic texts and the humanities.

In me you will find a dedicated and creative Japanologist and translator with an extreme passion for language and the written word as well as academic research with medical qualification having worked as a trained doctor’s assistant for many years alongside studying.

My fields of expertise: Medicine, Literature, Mythology and Folklore as well as Anime and Subtitling.

… because the heart lies in the word.
