My name is Barbara. I am an Argentinean Spanish<>English Sworn Translator. During the last four years, I have been working as a freelance translator, and I am seeking more opportunities in this field.
I graduated from UMSA (Universidad del Museo Social Argentino) in 2012, after a 4-year Translation course, achieving an overall mark average of 8. Shortly afterwards, I specialized in audiovisual subtitling, having attended several courses and seminars on the matter. Moreover, I have taken a postgraduate 3-month seminar on “Language Self-training Techniques for Translating.”
In recent years, I have translated and proofread in the language pair from Spanish to English and vice versa.
The projects I have worked on cover a wide variety of subjects, such as certifications, résumés, professional articles on psychology, business production reports, user’s manual for Human Resources purposes, among others. I have until quite recently worked for Pensar Poker, an Argentinean publishing group, translating and proofreading several books on poker.
Currently, I am working as a freelance translator/English professor, teaching social and corporate English in companies headquartered in Buenos Aires’ city center.
As for my drives and interests, I can state that, from a very early age, I have discovered my love for different languages and my ever-growing thirst for knowledge. I am an eager fast learner, open to criticism with self-teaching views. I am drawn to challenging and mind-enriching experiences, always seeking to strive for excellence in my work.
