About me
Sumie was born in Japan, studied Communication Arts and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Magna Cum Laude. Sumie found her first career as a production manager in a web design firm, worked for 7 years and gained internet related knowledge such as HTML/CSS/PHP along with graphic skills including Photoshop/Illustrator.

Then she found a new career as an in-house translator for QAMF Japan which is a bowling equipment distributor, where she spent over 10 years after leaving the web design firm. There she earned technical knowledge on bowling equipment and experienced designing/marketing of bowling balls.

Aside from bowling ball work, she also translated machine manuals provided by the manufacturer to be used by Japanese customers.

Aside from her job at QAMF Japan, she has done some private translation/publishing. One of the recent work is a translation of "Bare Bone Bowling" by a Hall of Famer pro bowler, Brian Voss. Also, she does Bowling This Month article translations which she publishes on Kindle store.
