Cape Town – While Tropical Storm Dineo has been downgraded to an ex-cyclone, its effects have been deadly along the coast of Mozambique, Gaza and Inhambane Provinces, as four people have reportedly lost their lives on Thursday 16 February, 2017.
Despite having decreased in intensity, the South African Weather Service says highspeed winds in excess of 50/km and heavy rainfall can still be expected as the storm makes its way across the north of SA, "posing a great risk" right into the weekend.
The South Africa government has called on communities to be on the high alert and take precautions especially ensuring children are safe and not crossing bridges or near possible rivers that are at risk of flash flooding.
