My name is Rachele Piffaretti and I’m a Swiss freelance subtitler and
translator.

I’m a native Italian
speaker and I translate from English, French and Spanish into Italian; I offer
services of translation, subtitling, subtitling QC, transcription (IT to IT) as
well as translation (dialogue adaptation) for voice-over. Having completed a
Bachelor of Arts in Multilingual Communication (Translation) and an MSc in
Specialised Translation (Audiovisual), I have a good knowledge of both
translation and audiovisual translation, which I’m always enriching by working
as a freelance subtitler for different companies (e.g. Voicebox, Zoo Digital,
Hiventy, Authôt, Studio Calabria) and on various kinds of programs and texts (e.g.
documentaries, TV series, movies, cartoons, educational videos, tourism related
texts).
I
have a very good understanding of my working languages - French, Spanish and
English  - as, besides having studied them, I have had the chance of
living in countries where they are spoken, such as the French-speaking part of
Switzerland, Spain, Australia and the UK, where I am currently based. This gave
me the opportunity not only of improving my expertise in each language, but
also of familiarising myself with the culture related to it.
 
My field of expertise comprises mostly cinema & entertainment,
travel & tourism and general texts, but I’d be happy to get to know and
work on other kinds of topics, and I am therefore open to translation projects
in other fields.
