Ernsthafte Rückschritte“ habe die Türkei in den vergangenen Jahren in den Bereichen Justiz, öffentliche Verwaltungsreform, Grundrechte und Meinungsfreiheit verzeichnet, beklagt der Bericht und führt dies auf den gescheiterten Putschversuch im Juli 2016 zurück. Aus diesem Grund fordert die EU-Kommission die Aufhebung des Ausnahmezustands. Ohne Verlängerung würde dieser am 19. April auslaufen. The Austrian Government has for an extended time spoken for an end to the accession negotiations which are currently on ice in anyways.
Turkey "has taken serious back steps during the past years in the areas of justice, public administration, and has dismissed basic rights, and the freedom of speech" as the report criticizes and this led to a failed Putsch attempt in July 2016. For this reason, the EU Commission demands the repeal of the state of emergency. Without an extension, it would discontinue on 19 April. Certainly the observers expect that the Turkish Parliament would give the green light on Wednesday for [and extension] of three months more.

”Ryssland för historiens mest häpnadsväckande informations-blitzkrieg någonsin”, hävdade Natos militäre överbefälhavare general Philip M Breedlove under Rysslands krig i Ukraina. Detta var något av en underdrift. Det nya Ryssland sysslar inte bara med den sortens simpla desinformation, förfalskningar, lögner, läckor och cybersabotage som vanligen förknippas med informationskrig. This surreal culture has been the model for the Russian foreign policy for around twenty years. The key to understanding today’s Russia are “political technologists”. Russia’s spin doctors conjure up fictitious political parties and concocted popular movements that captured the nation’s attention while Putin’s circle consolidated its power.
