Hello,
I am Nguyen The Vinh, from Hanoi, Vietnam.
I am writing to apply for
the translation / interpretation position in your upcoming projects. I hold a Bachelor’s
degree in English and worked professionally as interpreter / translator for six
years.
After graduation from Hanoi National
University in 1996, I worked for Hong Leong Group and Nippon Koei Co., Ltd in
Hanoi offices as an Interpreter / Translator. English was used as the official
languages for all communication channels. I was responsible for interpretation
in various technical meeting, seminars, contractual negotiations, and
translation of tender documents, bid proposals, correspondences, regulations
and laws (when it is required), etc. After 06 years working as an Interpreter /
Translator, I joined the Oil & Gas industry. From 2002-2006, I worked as Schedulers
/ Head of Project Control under Project
Management Team for various offshore facilities construction projects of
foreign clients in Vungtau, Vietnam. English was also the official language in office,
meetings, workshops, correspondence and documentations. From October 2006 to
January 2010, I worked as a Senior Procurement Officer in a Hydrocarbon
Exploration Project in Algeria. From 2010 to 2016, I was sent to Uzbekistan to
work as a Procurement Manager in another Hydrocarbon Exploration project there.
I was in charge of all tender, tender-related issues during this time. English
language was used in all professional reports, tender documents, correspondence,
meeting, and workshops with local authorities and multinational companies. From
May 2016 till now, I am working in Vietnam for some domestic production
projects in the position of Senior Procurement Officer.
During the time working in Oil and Gas industry, I also worked as a
freelance translator.
