Bio

My name is Carlos San Miguel and I am a professional Spanish Freelance Translator, Editor, Proofreader, and Subtitler. I am a native Spanish speaker with an advanced level of the English language.

I studied the English language at Asociación Rosarina de Cultura Inglesa (ARCI) until I achieved the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE, C1 Advanced) provided by Cambridge Assessment English.

I studied translation at Instituto de Educación Superior Nº28 "Olga Cossettini" in Rosario, Argentina. During my training years at University, I have gained considerable professional experience of translation. I have translated stories, poems from authors such as Alicia Walker, Tennessee Williams, J. K. Rowling, Jack London, Cortázar, Borges, García Márquez and more. Also, I have translated a large number of tourists and hotels brochures as well as legal documents such as birth, death and marriage certificates.

 

In addition, I have been developing my skills as an Audiovisual Translator through several courses so as to understand how to use the different software for subtitling videos (Amara, Aegisub, among others). I have translated several TEDx Talks.
