Hi, I'm Nick, and I've joined ProZ.com to build up my experience in the translation industry, as I have not yet worked on any projects. Below is more information about how I got to this point, but here I will say that, for the foreseeable future, I won't be charging for any work I do, seeing as I am still a novice. However, I will do my best to translate any material I am given with as much accuracy I can achieve given what I know. Also, I will make it known where and when I do not understand something relevant to a translation, so that I might learn from my shortcomings.
Besides all that, I am a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington as of 2016, with a BA in Linguistics. While I do not have a formal "translation" degree, I believe that my training in the study of languages has helped me to prime myself for the craft of translation as I begin to engage within the field. As of now, I am unfamiliar with the tools that translators use, e.g., "CAT tools", but I should have no problems learning how to use them as I begin working.
Feel free to ask me more, as my profile is still sparse as of writing this, but I hope to be of help to others in the future as I grow in my skills as a translator.
Thanks for reading, and どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
