Objective: To evaluate obstetric outcomes in twin pregnancies of advanced maternal age (≥35 years).
Materials and methods: A retrospective study involved 470 twin pregnancies in a single center from Sep. 1, 2012 to Mar. 31, 2015. Clinical characteristics and obstetric outcomes were recorded and compared among twin pregnancies who were classified as follows: age 20-29, 30-34, 35-39 and ≥40 years.
Results: The incidence of gestational diabetes (age 20-29 years 15.8%; 30-34 years 24.3%; 35-39 years 30.4%; ≥40 years 57.1%; p = 0.004) and premature delivery (20-29 years 58.6%; 30-34 years 69.1%; 35-39 years 72.2%; ≥40 years 85.7%; p = 0.001) significantly increased with increasing age whereas spontaneous abortion (20—29 years 27.6%; 30—34 years 11.6%; 35—39 years 11.4%; ≥40 years 0.0%; p = 0.021) decreased in twin pregnancies of advanced maternal age. In addition, the rate of postpartum hemorrhage increased almost continuously by age and advanced maternal age was described as a risk factor for postpartum hemorrhage (age 35—39, adjusted OR 3.377; 95% confidence interval 1729—6.598; p < 0.001; age ≥ 40, adjusted OR 10.520; 95% CI 1.147-96.492; p = 0.037). However, there was no significant difference between advanced maternal age and adverse neonatal outcomes.
Conclusion: In twin pregnancies, advanced maternal age experienced significant higher risk of postpartum hemorrhage, gestational diabetes and premature delivery. Neither adverse neonatal outcomes nor stillbirth was significantly associated with maternal age.

Objetivo: analizar los resultados obstétricos de embarazos gemelares en edad materna avanzada (≥ 35 años).
Materiales y métodos: estudio retrospectivo que incluyó 470 embarazos gemelares en un solo centro de atención y que se realizó desde el 1 de septiembre de 2012 hasta el 31 de marzo de 2015. Las características clínicas y los resultados obstétricos se registraron y compararon con los embarazos gemelares que se clasificaron de la siguiente manera: 20-29, 30-34, 35-39 y ≥ 40 años de edad.
Resultados: la incidencia de diabetes gestacional (20-29 años, 15,8 %; 30-34 años, 24,3 %; 35-39 años, 30,4 %; ≥ 40 años, 57,1 %; p = 0,004) y de parto prematuro (20-29 años, 58,6 %; 30-34 años, 69,1 %; 35-39 años 72,2 %; ≥ 40 años, 85,7 %; p = 0,001) incrementó de forma significativa con la edad, mientras que la incidencia de aborto espontáneo (20—29 años, 27,6 %; 30—34 años, 11,6 %; 35—39 años, 11,4 %; ≥ 40 años, 0,0 %; p = 0,021) disminuyó en embarazos gemelares en edad materna avanzada. Asimismo, la tasa de hemorragia posparto aumentó mayoritariamente de manera continua con la edad y, además, la edad materna avanzada se consideró un factor de riesgo de la hemorragia posparto (35—39 años, OR ajustado 3,377; 95 % intervalo de confianza [IC] 1,729—6,598; p < 0,001; ≥ 40 años, OR ajustado 10,520; 95 % IC 1,147-96,492;
p = 0,037). Sin embargo, no se identificó una diferencia significativa entre la edad materna avanzada y los resultados neonatales adversos.
Conclusión: los embarazos gemelares en edad avanzada presentaron un riesgo considerablemente mayor de hemorragia posparto, diabetes gestacional y parto prematuro. Ni los resultados neonatales adversos ni la muerte fetal se asociaron significativamente a la edad materna.

La presente investigación tiene como tema principal la motivación y los factores que puedan afectar el aprendizaje, justificándose en la importancia que tiene este elemento en el proceso educativo, ya que esta puede actuar como facilitador, o en contraste, podría crear dificultad hacia el aprendizaje. Junto a ello, este estudio tiene como objetivo comprender, determinar y describir las causas que condicionan la motivación hacia el aprendizaje en estudiantes de 5° básico, para eso se utilizaran distintas técnicas y métodos de recolección de datos, como lo son el dibujo identitario, la entrevista semiestructurada y la encuesta, quienes nos entregan información relevante para alcanzar los objetivos deseados. A su misma vez, nos permiten obtener resultados que nos ayudan a clarificar las causas que puedan subordinar la motivación hacia el aprendizaje, creando una articulación de toda la información recogida, dejando en evidencia a través de una triangulación de datos la importancia de todos los factores que afectan a la motivación escolar (agentes educativos, apoderados y/o familia, estudiantes) condicionándola para el aprendizaje de los estudiantes.
Translation - English Abstract
This study primarily deals with the incentive and factors which could influence learning, justifying the importance of this element in the educational process, for it can ease learning or, contrary to this, produce lack of motivation. Furthermore, the objective of this study is to understand, determine, and describe the factors which influence fifth grade students’ learning motivation; therefore, to achieve this, different data collection techniques and methods will be used, such as the self-portrait drawing, semi-structured interview, and survey, all of which provide relevant information needed to accomplish the desired objectives. Moreover, this allows us to obtain results that help clarify the factors that reduce learning motivation, arranging all the gathered information and unmasking through a triangulation of data the importance of every factor which affects the academic motivation (educational agents, parents and/or relatives, students) for students’ learning.
