Working as a professional documentation specialist for a leading flow conditioner company since 12 years, I am creating and maintaining technical manuals and specification sheets in 6 languages. These duties require linguistic skills in translating from Japanese to English or German and translating between German and English, technical understanding and a sense for the user’s needs, as well as managing outside translations and extensive document control.
I also am working in company quality assurance, being regularly in charge of drafting, translating and reviewing QA documentation such as QA manuals, standards and procedure, forms and exhibits.
In my specialty fields I frequently review English, Japanese, German, and other documentation for technical and/or procedural correctness.
My publishing experience is with documentation printed at printing companies, and increasingly DTP using Illustrator and InDesign.
With increased use of CAT tools, I’d like to work more on translations and that’s why I have registered with Proz.
I previously had a pedagogical, and a language instruction career. Apart from languages, hobbies/interests include or included: marketing, accounting, fiscal policies, international affairs, off-road motorcycles, kayaking, and last but not least: family.
