My educational background is in linguistics, social sciences, and English education. I love learning and studying languages, so my transition into translation felt like the perfect fit. After graduating from college, I began teaching English in various parts of Latin America. It just so happened that the places that I lived, such as Cusco, Peru and the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico, had huge tourist industries which provide plenty of work for English-Spanish translators. I began doing freelance translation to supplement my teaching income and recently decided to move onto freelancing via the internet.
English is my native language, I speak Spanish fluently, and I speak Yucatec Maya, an indigenous language, at a B2 level. Given my background in English education, I'm always happy to take editing or proofreading jobs or other things of that nature.
