Versatile and experienced native English speaker who has lived and worked in Spanish-speaking environments for the last 20 years, based in Central America since 2004. I provide accurate, detail-oriented and highly efficient Spanish to English translation, transcription and proofreading services. I am an Associate Member of the American Translators Association.
In my nonprofit, international and community development work in the US, Nicaragua and Guatemala, I have been responsible for ensuring effective written communication in both English and Spanish, including translating documents in both directions for staff and Board members, individual donors, institutional funding agencies and community members. I have produced hundreds of project proposals for grant funding, grant and project reports, annual reports, newsletter articles, social media and fundraising campaigns, and other institutional communications in English and Spanish.
My Masters in Micro- and Small Business Administration from the Universidad Americana (UAM, Managua), combined with extensive experience in nonprofit fundraising, administration, personnel management and financial reporting equips me for specialization in translation for financial and institutional communications. However, due to my flexibility and diverse background, I am also comfortable with general translation and can quickly adapt to the needs of a wide range of projects.
My areas of expertise include international development, human rights, women's rights, micro- and small-business management, nonprofit management, fundraising, grassroots organizing, child and youth development, and arts-based methodologies for political formation.
