Source text - English The small locomotive engine, Number 4, came clanking, stumbling down from Selston with seven full waggons. It appeared round the corner with loud threats of speed, but the colt that it startled from among the gorse, which still flickered indistinctly in the raw afternoon, outdistanced it at a canter. A woman, walking up the railway line to Underwood, drew back into the hedge, held her basket aside, and watched the footplate of the engine advancing. The trucks thumped heavily past, one by one, with slow inevitable movement, as she stood insignificantly trapped between the jolting black waggons and the hedge; then they curved away towards the coppice where the withered oak leaves dropped noiselessly, while the birds, pulling at the scarlet hips beside the track, made off into the dusk that had already crept into the spinney. In the open, the smoke from the engine sank and cleaved to the rough grass. The fields were dreary and forsaken, and in the marshy strip that led to the whimsey, a reedy pit-pond, the fowls had already abandoned their run among the alders, to roost in the tarred fowl-house. The pit-bank loomed up beyond the pond, flames like red sores licking its ashy sides, in the afternoon’s stagnant light. Just beyond rose the tapering chimneys and the clumsy black head-stocks of Brinsley Colliery. The two wheels were spinning fast up against the sky, and the winding-engine rapped out its little spasms. The miners were being turned up.
Translation - Portuguese A pequena locomotiva, de Número 4, chegou chacoalhando, tropeçando desde Selston, com sete vagões cheios.

Translation - English Interface culture represents a revolution of social, historical, and cultural changes and impacts. Hyperlinks – tools that originated the concept of interface –are also, in this context, means to access information and content. As changes happen, multiple possibilities of accessing information are offered by digital devices. In the beginning, news were only found in newspapers. Then came news in multiple platforms and on the internet. These new tools allowed the reader/user to access information wherever it pleased them, in a practical and portable fashion. Having said that, this research aims at answering, through an analysis of newspaper Zero Hora – the main source of printed communication in Southern Brazil – how printed news can be updated to keep up with current digital tools. To accomplish such, a bibliographic research of concepts that were fundamental to responsive design was done. Through that, we understand that responsive design is an answer, because it transforms the layout of any adaptable website to different formats that may exist. In conclusion, we understand design as the information tool itself, as it facilitates the connection between what is printed and what is digital.

Portuguese to English: A educação e as edições do Pisa General field: Social Sciences Detailed field: Education / Pedagogy
Translation - English The culture of evaluation has been spread in Brazil by MEC (Ministry of Education) in the '90s. Any resistance, mainly in the academic fields, has been ignored. Currently, it would seem that evaluation has assumed the purpose of ends instead of means. Some representative voices of this voracity in evaluative culture are rethinking themselves. Such is the case of Ravitch (2014) and Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences winner Heckman (2014, p. 1). The Pisa test is included in this evaluative culture.
Very recently (El País, 2014), a group of eighty specialists from all around the globe has manifested itself, claiming that tests should serve as a basis to establish education policies in many countries with the sole purpose of improving results, rather than policies aiming towards improving education.
Criticisms to Pisa do not invalidate that the test results may be used to compare different countries, as is the case with this article , but only if restricted information is compared, such as comprehension in Reading, Sciences, and Mathematics. Also for the purpose of comparison between two countries, it is important to present data about enrollment in early education besides Pisa, since it helps to better understand the development of students and challenges towards improving basic education. For instance, in 2011, the rate of enrollment in early education (Isced 0) of children of three years of age in Spain was 96.6% and in Brazil it was 35.8% (OCDE, 2013, p. 436). Isced 0 corresponds to early education (nursery and preschool) starting at three years of age in the International Standard Classification of Education (Isced).
Results of the editions of Pisa since the year 2000 are presented in Table 1:

English to Portuguese: About Public Key Technology General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Computers: Software
Source text - English The public key technology working within and servers is often described with unfamiliar security terminology. The following explanation of how public keys work may bean interesting supplement to your knowledge of Internet security.
A computer's security key is a file. You don't open a key (file) as you open a document or a word processor application. Keys are more like magnetic badges with powerful encryption and decryption capabilities.
There are two kinds of keys, private and public, and you need both. A private key sits on your computer and you never give it out. A public key can be copied repeatedly and given out to everybody.
You need both kinds of keys because they are fundamentally linked. (As with a pair of pants, you always buy both legs.) You can pass your public key around to whomever you wish, but for any key to perform its decryption duty, it needs to be matched back to its linked key partner.
Both public and private keys have the ability to encrypt and (together as a set) decrypt information. Keys work in two primary ways:
Other users can encrypt information with your public key (the key you've distributed freely) and send the information to you. You can then use your private key to decrypt their information. The sender wants to know that the message can be read only by you (encrypted for privacy) and has not been altered.
You can encrypt information with your private key and send the information over the network. Anyone on the network who has your public key (the key you've distributed freely) can decrypt your message. The recipient wants to know that the message came only from you (authenticated with your digital signature) and has not been altered.
