English to Italian: Biology General field: Science Detailed field: Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-)
Source text - English Biology is the natural science that involves the study of life and living organisms, including their physical structure, chemical composition, function, development and evolution. Despite the broad scope and the complexity of the science, there are certain unifying concepts that consolidate it into a single, coherent field. Biology recognises the cell as the basic unit of life, genes as the basic unit of heredity, and evolution as the engine that propels the creation of new species. Living organisms are open systems that survive by transforming energy and decreasing their local entropy to maintain a stable and vital condition defined as homeostasis.

Daniela was born in Italy
(Brindisi) on August, 23rd 1976.
Having graduated from University
of Salento in Italy with a “Laurea” (master degree) in Biological Science
(specialization in Molecular Biology) in 2005, she then gained her PhD in
Biology and Biotechnology from University of Salento in 2009. A few months
after her PhD she was offered a 3-year postdoctoral position at the University
of Texas at Dallas (UTD) in USA (2009-2012), within the Molecular and Cell
Biology group led by Prof. L. Zhang. She moved to the Neuroscience field in
2012 after getting a postdoctoral position as a research fellow at the
Max-Planck-Institute in DESY Hamburg, Germany, with Prof. Eckhard Mandelkow and
Dr. Eva Mandelkow. In 2015, she joined the Manchester Pharmacy School, at the
University of Manchester (UK) as a Research Associate. In the past 8 years she
has been exposed to different laboratory environments and has worked on
problems in different areas of biological sciences and published 12 articles in
international peer-reviewed scientific journals. This has strengthened her
preparation and contributed to broaden my vision and develop abilities.
