Bio

Born and raised in South of Brazil, German descent, I come from a family that speaks German and Portuguese. Since I was a child I started to dedicate my time to learn English, a language that naturally has aroused my interest.

Currently, I dedicate about 8 hours on weekdays to this activity, checking emails considering other countries working times.

I have concluded important translation courses. I have studied topics such as terminology, style guide, quality criteria, CAT Tools, efficient communication with agencies, organization, management, etc. Besides that, a more specific training in “Translation Techniques – Software & IT”.

I graduated in Artistic Education - emphasis in Computer Graphics, 1998 (certificate attached). My post-graduation course was Instructional Design for Online Education, in 2014. For about 20 years I worked as Graphic Designer in communication agencies, creative studios and in an optical company as well. My areas of expertise are Graphic Design, Printing, Computer, Technology, Web Design, Arts, and Marketing.

In my experience, I have got used to check and double check the files before sending them to the clients or printing companies, as well as knowing the technical aspects of computing, file types, software, dashboards and so on. I also emphasize my participation in projects involving Marketing and Advertising, in which the search for the best and clearest way of communicating with words and images was constant.

In 2001 I went to the USA in a student exchange, so I lived with an American family, which has also contributed to improving my knowledge and practice of speaking the language through an immersion in American culture in its day to day.

The sister of a co-worker came to me in 2002, because she needed someone to translate a medical study – nutrition area - that's when I did my first paid translation job.

Since 2015, I work as a freelancer assisting communication between a Brazilian company and a supplier company located in China. My main tasks are: translating emails, checking artwork files, generating explanatory tables with the request of the client and providing the approval sheets as well. Besides, I send emails to the supplier, I check the proofs that they send from China and I authorize the production of the materials (smart cards). The communication is all made in English.

I work with professionalism, I am attentive and trustworthy. I respect deadlines, and I am also communicative - I do not like to leave any doubts pending. I ensure to work in a responsive way and I hope to contribute a lot to the translation of materials that are written in English.
