I am a native English speaker that grew up in Texas and learned to read and write at a basic level in Spanish in high school. I then worked a variety of jobs alongside native Spanish speakers from El Salvador, Mexico, and the Honduras which helped me to develop spoken fluency. I have since worked at an immigration law firm where I translated official documents such as marriage, death and birth certificates as well as petitions for asylum. I also communicated with clients in English and Spanish both over the phone and in person. I received my certificate for Spanish Medical Interpreting through a course at the University of Georgia where I studied medical terminology, standards of ethics in interpreting, and Latino culture as it pertains to the Healthcare field. I now work as both a video remote interpreter for hospitals around the country and a live interpreter for medical interactions at clinics and hospitals here in the Greater Atlanta area. I have been volunteering for almost two years as a simultaneous interpreter of sacrament services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I interpret the services from Spanish to English and occasionally from English to Spanish when there are guest speakers. Please contact me if you need documents translated or are in need of an interpreter. [email protected]
