Bio

Hey there and thanks for giving a minute for my profile!

My name is Anni - I'm born and raised in Finland, but currently residing in Shanghai, China. I never really planned to move to China, but I felt something really charming and appealing about this country when I first arrived in April 2015. After learning some Mandarin I ended up doing my undergraduate degree of International Politics in Fudan University, while keeping languages (Chinese, English, Russian) as my minors.

I have been working with translations ever since I moved to China: first freelancing online and later on in an actual translation company (迅驰国际咨询有限公司). Besides writing and translating texts, life in China is a real-time translation project: as I'm known to be the one 老外(lǎowài, foreigner) with some sort of fluency of Mandarin, I'm often the one interpreting social interactions varying from fixing the bathroom to very formal governmental office visits.

I'm very glad to tell more about myself if needed.
