Professional practices Rose Sneyd endorses's Professional Guidelines.

Sneyd is a PhD candidate at Dalhousie University who is completing a
comparative literature thesis on Italian Romantic and English Victorian
literature. Rose lived and worked in Italy for more than a year, and has since
worked in the fields of education, journalism, and translation. A significant
component of Rose’s PhD has involved translating Italian literary criticism, on
the poet Giacomo Leopardi, into English. As Editorial Assistant at
Wine-Searcher Magazine, Rose was responsible for writing features on the
Italian wine industry and translated interviews, and other research that she
conducted, from Italian into English. Here, she also translated French news
stories – from the Agence France Presse news wire – into English. At VMC Game
Labs, Rose copy-edited and localised Italian game scripts, in addition to
occasionally translating from English into Italian. Rose is a keen translator
of Italian poetry in her spare time, and is passionate about pursuing a career
in translation. Her academic successes include having published peer-reviewed
articles on the Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Mazzini and Arthur Hugh Clough,
on Elizabeth Cary, and on Samuel Taylor Coleridge and John Milton. She has also
delivered conference papers in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the U.S.
