For as long as I can remember, I have been enamoured by the French language. It's intonation, words with apostrophes in the middle ('aujourd'hui', anyone?) and its ties to the English language fascinate me.
I have been speaking French now for 14 years. I find that speaking another language is almost like maths, and simultaneously nothing like it; because you are still learning it is easy to forget a word, for example, which interrupts the flow. But once you figure it out, the whole sentence clicks into place. Just like that final question on the back of a maths exam paper. Almost.
My studies have seen me living in France, teaching English in secondary schools, and earning a Master's Degree. I would like to use my language ability to enter the translation industry, while also using any work which comes my way as an opportunity to consolidate and build on my knowledge.
No-one can know everything, we all have to keep improving. Learning a language can help this.
I look forward to working with you.
